Too Pretty for a Beauty Class

Maverick has this neat incentive called a Personal Development Fund - essentially after a year of working for Maverick you get about a month's salary to take a course on anything that may help you develop as a person. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with work.

So, when me and my colleague Shilla had a chance to get away between client's demands for two days, we opted for a beauty class. The idea sounds tempting, isn't it? But you know what? I never thought how frustrating it would be sitting down for 2 days from 9am to 4pm and do nothing else but putting powder all over my face. First round was fun! Shilla and I had a good laugh about us and amazed we could do make up on our faces.. but when the instructor asked us to apply the damn powder and colorful eye shadow for the third time...Gee.. we started to feel like we were in a nightmare. We no longer even talked to one another.. all we saw in the mirror were two unhappy women who thought they could run away from work for a while by doing make-up session.

We were wrong!

I finally realized that all we need is just applying a little bit of powder on the face, light shadow on the eyes, wear proper professional attire plus confidence to transmit the beauty effects, and off you go.. no need 2 days depressing ‘ugly’ sessions!
